Well, firstly I have to say WOW. Even a week after watching the most amazing collaboration to come out of the Asian wedding scene this year, I am still in awe of the most beautifully captured, A Bridal Story.
As part of Aamir Naveeds annual campaign, A Bridal Story took to its makings around a year ago.
Set at the beautiful Syon Park, the stunning campaign video by Story and Motion and photographs by Zehra Jhangir, were complimented by a live stream show, which was brought to audiences around the world by the team at AV Live.
The live streamed show which took place at The Old Library in Birmingham had a coherent theme to the campaigns photos we'd been given cheeky teasers of on Aamir's Instagram and displayed a spectacular set design based on the
Sheesh Mahal.
(Take a look at the Show Promo video by Story & Motion
at the bottom of this page to appreciate the set design and show )

Mohsin Naveed Rhanja's current bridal collections was exhibited on the models as they walked down to the live music played beautifully by Emily Marina & Tabla Jedi. They played a personal favourite of Sanso Ki Maala, which made the show that bit more exciting.
I loved the fact that for this campaign Aamir chose a young British Asian influencer, Annam Ahmad, for his muse. With roots like ours from Yorkshire we were super proud to see this beauty rock Aamirs vision. ( You go girl!!!💪🏼)

The concept focussed on taking the audience away from the UK and using the power of design and hone in on inspiration from the Far East. Elements from Rajasthan as well as the Sheesh Mahal were taken to create the magnificent set designs showcasing the traditional Eastern heritage.
This theme ran through all elements of this campaign. And well what can I say, Dream moments & Indigo Antiques executed this whole concept immaculately.

Hair & Make-Up
Of course Aamir being the maestro of hair, we knew the looks we were about to see would be fabulous!
What started as an ordinary childish hobby soon became an extraordinary talent for Aamir. He has styled hair creatively for the likes of international designer, Sabyasachi Mukherji as a Lead Stylist.
So as soon as we got wind of Aamirs, A Bridal Story campaign, we knew this showcase of his work would be next to none!

His campaign focuses on trends Aamir predicts will be the at the forefront of 2021 bridal looks. Texture was the key to 2021 hair trends, crimping as well as keeping the hair "soft, flowing and effortless" were the takeaways from this campaign. There was also a move towards reducing the size of hairstyles, minimising volume.

Make up was "simple and clean". The looks were kept minimal too to give it a timeless feel. It was very 'Bajirao Mastani' look as Ambreen suggested in Annams behind the scenes video and  she most definitely executed these looks so well! Ambreen you most definitely have jadoo in your hands.

Mohsin Naveed Rhanja designed the most breathtakingly beautiful bridal gowns for the campaign . My personal fave has to be the Emerald Green gharara that was paired with the intricately embroidered midi shirt. This look to me possess all the qualities that a traditional bridal look should have and my was it gracefully carried by the beautiful Annam. I also loved the Cream coloured lengha choli which were bedazzled with intricate embroideries of tila, zardozi and marori work. The pops of colour on the Duppatta just finished this whole look and took it to another level.

All of the bridal looks that were designed by MNR were a work of art. The traditional craftsmanship, cuts and colour palettes really did boast regality. Each individual piece is a brides dream come true and I would most definitely recommend each and every look as must have pieces in every brides wardrobe.
The looks were finished by exquisite jewels by Anayah and Bridal Flower Jewellery.
A bridal story
Aamir smirked as he said in his prologue to the live show that 'he think he got carried away', Well Aamir, we're all for that and more here at Shaadi Superstore and I'm sure we can speak on behalf of our brides too. We're so glad you did because WE LOVED EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS!!
The show was brought together by Ricco Events who looked after the entire project and Puja Majithia, who managed the show and styling of the whole campaign. And it wasn't just the show and campaign photos and videos that we fell in love with. We were taken back by the beautiful invites and PR packages that were sent out to some of the well known influencer on the social scene. We were low key jel of the stunning packages that were sent out and I'm sure you'd all agree we wanted one of those trousseaus and high chais supplied by Sapna catering & Decorasian.
Ahhhhh what a stunning concept, immaculately executed from start to finish.
Thank you Aamir for bringing the brides of 2020/21 the most beautiful campaign full of trends and inspiration. You really did us all proud!
